The most important factor that you have as a leader is your influence. Without it, you will not be able to accomplish anything. No matter how hard you try, if you do not have a solid influence on others, they will not do anything you wish them to.
People may do what they are have to just because of the position, title, or rank that you hold but I guarantee they will not want to do anything just because of those same reasons . You have to have the ability to make people want to do things versus have to do them. This is all encompassed within your influence that you have over people.
Your influence is built off many things to include, but not limited to: your reputation, your ability to help others, your knowledge, your experience, the trust that others have in you, the way you treat others, they way you communicate with others, and so forth.
Once you have established your influence, don’t do anything that will jeopardize it. Its impact will be devastating.
